Gender and Youth Inclusion Intern Jobs Description
The Gender and Youth Inclusion intern is expected to support the 2SCALE South Sudan Pilot program to balance private sector business interests – including their demand for employability skills with the empowerment of women and youths. The purpose of engaging the Gender and Youth Inclusion intern is to get work experience, exercise, and create professional exposure to graduate young professionals in gender, youth Inclusion and agro-enterprise development.
Roles & responsibilities
Support the Country Team Leader/Inclusive Business Advisor (CTL/IAA) and Business Champion in launching and implementing activities related to Gender and Youth.
Check the quality of gender-specific collected data for UIIs.
Create a database of MSMEs and SMEs led by women and included in the PPPs.
Write 1 case study on Gender inclusion.
Help produce 1 testimonial video with support from IAA on AYA/Gender activities.
Make a list of important national and international partners to help the team establish synergies to sustainably support the women impacted in PPPs.
Work closely with the Business Champion project team to ensure that the needs of women, youth, and other groups are fully integrated into the project’s activities.
Provide support such as B2B meetings with other activities.
Analyze youth-related constraints (for both young women and young men) and propose strategies to improve youth employment and youth integration in PPPs and their value chains.
Report on progress toward the inclusion of women, youth, and other groups in the project’s activities
Assist with monitoring and evaluation of approved activities targeting women, youth, and other vulnerable groups.
Support CTL/IAA in UIIs data collection.
Work closely with the BSS/BC, Agribusiness cluster coaches, and extension workers to ensure timely reporting.

Required Experience
At least a certificate or Diploma in social work & Social Admin, Agriculture/Agribusiness or Economics.
A sound, general understanding of Gender and Youth inclusion.
An enthusiastic, goal-oriented person who is able to work, learn and own tasks.
Comfortably fitting in with Youths and Rural women.
Ability to conduct training on identified training needs to Women and Youths mainly in Arabic.
Native English writing and verbal communication skills, good command of Juba Arabic, and knowledge of the local language is added advantage.
Willingness to be based in the field location (Magwi and Yambio)
Knowledge of computer applications (MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) is Key.
