SC Clinical Officer Jobs Description
ROLE PURPOSE:
The objective of the SC clinical Officer is to oversee and directly managing severely malnourished children with medical complication with a focus on the stabilization Centre by providing quality clinical and nutrition care to achieve the organization Goal and objectives.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
S/he is the in charge of the stabilization centre
Daily clinical examinations of all patients in SC withhigh level of suspicion of medical complications.
Prescription of the correct dosages and timely treatment of Severely Malnourished Children
with routine medications/therapeutic feeds based on the National/WHO guidelines
Provide technical support to the Nursesand the Nutrition Assistants
Filling in the CCPs in the correct manner taking care of details and be updating them daily
Admission Registers Books to be filledappropriately
Timely referral/transfers of patients to the available facilities
Phones on duringthe night-time for remote consultations
Reporting of Cholera/Measles outbreak immediately to the concerned authorities
Have critical clinical judgment and analysis of the patients and be able to diagnose 90% of diseases with only history taking.
Compiling weekly and monthly reports on timely manner.
Ensuring that the nutrition staff are getting proper supervision, coaching, and mentorship to improve their skills and professionalism.
Making sure, the cleaners/cooks are doing their work timely to avoid delay.
Timely requisition of supplies and stock management.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must maintain regular transparent and supportive communication to the nutrition team, stakeholders, community, and direct beneficiaries
Work in coordination with other health team to ensure the nutrition is integrated in all the health care system departments
Participate in workshops as requested by the office
Coordinate withlocal authorities andother NGOs
Qualifications
Diploma in clinical medicine
2 years’experience working in the stabilization Center with INGOs
Having gone through SC Guideline training is an added advantage
Knowledge of NIS isan added advantage
Having clinical experience of Pediatrics
Fluent in written and spoken English
A computer literate in Microsoft excel, word, PowerPoint and outlook
Good interpersonal skill
Knowledge of Sphere standards
Experience in training and caching of Staff
